Once in a lifetime..
With an incredible opportunity like this, we couldn't pass it up. In his third year as a member of the PBC, Lincoln will be going on tour with Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale to India leaving August 4th and returning August 15th. Half way around the world he will experience and be exposed to culture, music, food and art that will inevitably leave their marks and shape him as a young man.
Many friends and family have asked how they can support Lincoln on this once in a lifetime trip. So we created this site to share more about the trip, about Linc in general, and offer a way to help cover the cost to make this happen for Lincoln.
A little about Linc
With a new found love of Nike Jordans and a taste for cologne, Lincoln is quickly finding his style. He is dedicated to weekly piano lessons, writes and records original songs on Garageband, and turns our whole house into a Nerf gun shooting range in his spare time. He loves performing with the choir and is learning to value practice, patience and teamwork.
Linc is growing up incredibly kind and thoughtful, and simply a joy to be around. He always holds the door for us and helps with chores like taking out the trash and emptying the dishwasher. In the fall, he will begin middle school at Masterman School, the top ranked middle school for academics in the state of PA. He was gifted Nike Jordans for his birthday and he can't wait to wear them to his new school.
On his 10th birthday, he and Monika flew to Europe to visit family in Scotland and Poland, where he got to explore everything from places where Harry Potter was filmed, to the fields and rivers that his grandparents tell him stories of. He soaked in every moment, made lifelong bonds with cousins through play and silliness, and fell in love with a kitten named Sebastian.
Lincoln goes to India
Each year, the Philadelphia Boys Choir goes on tour as Ambassadors of the United States, sharing their gift of song. Most years, the destination isn't quite as far nor exotic. And it was a hard choice to make to send our little one away so far and for so long. But we also know he may never get an opportunity like this again. So we went for it.
The PBC will be traveling for 11 days to Mumbai, Dehli, Bangalore and Chennai, with a concert in each city. The organization of this group is incredible and we know he will be safe and learn so much about culture and life.
The Boys will be doing lots of sightseeing in the four cities. Some of the highlights will be Gandhi Smriti, Humayun's Tomb, a guided tour of the Taj Mahal, Qutab Minar, Shore Temple and the Five Rathas. There is even a rickshaw ride in Chandni Thowk planned on their first day. They will be meeting with other choirs and collaborating with them on stage during their concerts. The Boys have been learning three songs in Hindi to perform to the audiences. We hope many will come to support and hear our Boys sing.
